On December 12, 2021, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh Province and Vingroup officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for the VinES Battery Manufacturing Plant at the Vung Ang Economic Zone. This project is an important part of VinFast's strategy to develop its own battery production, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality batteries that meet international standards for its electric vehicles. In Phase 1, the plant covers 8 hectares with a total investment of VND 4,000 billion.

During the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, shared the Group's vision of building a clean energy ecosystem and increasing the localization of VinFast's supply chain. Vingroup also highlighted its three-pillar battery strategy: sourcing batteries from the world's leading manufacturers, partnering with global companies to produce advanced batteries, and investing in its own battery research, development, and manufacturing.

The event was also attended by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who congratulated Vingroup and shared his support for the Group's transformation from real estate to industrial manufacturing, services, and high technology.
